8/26 - Astrodome
Gooden vs Bergman
Mets 6, Astros 0
Doc Gooden went the distance fanning 11, walking none and not allowing a single run on 5 hits. A 6 run fifth inning broke a scoreless deadlock as the Amazin's never looked back. Lead off man Keith Miller was the only Met batter w/out a hit. Even Gooden, who his hitting .286 got into the action.

Viola vs Hampton
Astros 9, Mets 2
Frank Viola sounds more like a broken kazoo as the 'Stros came to life offensively and gave him a solid beating in just 5 innings. Hampton went 7 and gave up just 2. Super sub Bill Spiers went 3 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI in the clean-up spot. Hampton was 2 for 4 himself to raise his season average to .444. Kevin McReynolds was 3 for 4 and was dressed and on the plane before the final out was recorded.
8/28 - Shea Stadium
Lima vs Cone
Astors 4, Mets 3
New York rallied for 2 runs in the 8th off of Houston reliever Powell, but it was not enough to overcome a 4-1 deficit. Bagwell, Everett and Biggio each had 2 hit days. Jose Lima went 6 and gave up 1 to get his 3rd win of the campaign, but sadly his ERA "ballooned to 0.38. Billy "Waggs" gave up 1 hit in the 9th but held on for the save.

Houston FUN FACTS by Justin Ryan:
HOU outfielders have two assists in the game to keep Lima's 0.00 ERA intact...
Lima served up a solo shot in the 7th for his first and only run of KOD14 in 3 starts.
Going into gm3, HOU batters had not hit a homerun this season. Drastic changes were made this series, including in gm2 and 3 batting UT Bill Spiers CLEANUP and dropping Bagwell to 6th. In gm3, HOU finally hit two homers (Everett/Bagwell)
