Our theme won by the narrowest of margins (1 vote). You would have thought it was the Iowa Caucuses ! It just goes to show you that the KOD managers are very passionate about what theme they are interested in playing.
The league is slated to start sometime in mid February, which is a good time to start. Hopefully by then all of the new release bugs will have been corrected. Last Thursday I tested with Dave online to help fix the baserunner pop up issue. Fingers crossed on this one, because we all know that in the heat of battle its sometime impossible to count to 5 :) !
Last season we had 26 teams, which IMHO was probably a bit too much. This season we are dropping down to a more traditional 24 teams, which made it much easier on our resident schedule maker (Douglas Zaner). Incredibly most managers are returning and we even found a way to add a few new folks (Gene Couture & Frank Selders), as well a returnee (Howie Fortel).
As we gear up for the season I will be posting updated photos for each team, here on the blog. Last season (KOD13) I experimented with using baseball cards instead of plain player photos. It was an overwhelming success. What I will be doing over the next few weeks is adding cards for each team that Topps did not get to. Figure on seeing an update daily. I will be using the template for the exact year of each team. Some templates are harder than other, so I might simplify them a bit in order to create the cards in a timely fashion.
A sample of the first batch is Raul Ibanez (pictured here). His Topps 2010 card was created in landscape mode, which does not appear well when loaded into the game. I used an updated template to give him a portrait mode look.
As usual, your comments and suggestions are most appreciated, so post them here on the blog.
